Emergency Budget 22nd June |
The new coalition Government announced that its emergency budget would take place on 22nd June. With the coming together of the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats each party has had to make concessions on its proposals, however it is clear that large scale public spending cuts are definite alongside significant changes to the taxation landscape given the perilous state of the UK economy and its deficit. What will the changes mean to companies and individuals and what impact will the tax changes have? Well, unfortunately, we will only know this for sure after the 22nd of June, but by then it might be too late to do anything about it. We do know some of the detail, particularly around inheritance tax but many other areas are likely to be affected as well including National Insurance, Income Tax and Pension relief.
For those looking at putting in place financial planning options the time to act is now, as many of the current opportunities available and certainly any associated tax breaks may not be here for long. |
